Although this power supply method can be used, it is not ideal for performance and safety. The crane busbar is also known as sliding contact lines. The safety sliding contact lines used in the market mainly include the following types: seamless sliding contact lines, tubular sliding contact lines, and single pole sliding contact lines. 

Seamless sliding contact line

The seamless trolley line of the bridge crane uses oxygen-free copper to transmit power, which has double the conductivity, good contact, easy installation, replacement, and transportation, does not easily wear and damage the trolley line, and prolongs the service life. The seamless copper core is closely combined with the plastic shell, which prevents poor contact caused by vibration. Compared with traditional power supply methods, it is safer. Because of its safety, convenience, and high cost performance, many users love it.

Tubular sliding contact line

The tubular trolley line of the bridge crane is generally 4 meters long and cannot be bent. Its conductivity and safety factor are high, and its waterproof effect is good. However, since the shell is made of hard plastic, it is easily damaged during transportation and installation, and the process during installation is also relatively cumbersome. The price is more expensive than the seamless sliding line, so it is not widely used from time to time.

Single pole sliding line

The single-pole sliding wire of the bridge crane is long used on large-tonnage bridge cranes. It is composed of guide rails, current collectors, isolators, sheaths, hangers, connectors, fixing clips, end covers, and thermal compensation equipment. It can withstand relatively large short-circuit impulse currents in harsh environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and high voltage. The mechanical strength is high, and the rigidity makes it very difficult to cause bending deformation and cause failure. Long service life due to large heat dissipation area.

Single pole sliding line

Most of the faults of the trolley line are caused by poor contact, which is caused by insufficient spring force of the collector or incorrect installation. To better maintain the trolley line, the wear resistance of the collector and the chamfer of the brush can be increased, and the pressure of the collector spring can be increased to ensure that the collector is smooth and runs smoothly.

Common faults and treatment methods of trolley line

  • The sliding contact line is powered off

The main reasons: the brush climbs in the conduit; the brush is severely worn and cannot touch the conductor; the conductor joint is not flat; the single collector is used; the guide rail joint is loose.

Treatment method: detect whether the collector is seriously worn, replace the collector; replace the brush; re-adjust the connection node.

Use double brush collectors; readjust and tighten the connecting screws.

  • The guide rail is deformed and the movement of the collector is blocked

Main reasons: the ambient temperature is too high; the distance between the lifting racks is large or loose.

Treatment method: Partially adopt heat insulation board, add sunshade outside.

Tighten the screws.

  • The sliding contact line shakes a lot during work

The main reasons are: the shift fork cannot absorb the transmission error; the straightness of the main line of the guide rail is poor; the hanger is loose.

Solution: Correct the tractor so that it can freely absorb the transmission error; adjust the straightness of the guide rail; tighten the hanger screw nail.

  • The brushes wear out quickly

The main reasons are: the joint is uneven; the carrying capacity is too large; the spring pressure is large.

Treatment method: reconnect the guide rail as required; increase the number of collectors; replace and correct the spring pressure.

  • The side of the brush is scratched

The main reasons are: the brushes are worn out, the trolley line collector is set incorrectly; the side force transmission of the tractor’s shift fork is too large.

Treatment method: replace and correct the spring pressure; replace the traction fork or correct the tractor fork.

  • There are sparks in the guide rail

The main reason: the brush surface is in poor contact with the guide rail.

Treatment method: Check the guide rail joints, and properly break in the brushes to ensure 60% of the contact area.

  • There is a big abnormal sound when the trolley line collector is running

Main reasons: excessive current; uneven joints.

Treatment method: increase the number of collectors; reinstall the rail connection.

  • Scratches on the casing of the trolley line collector

Main reasons: deformation of the guide rail; the current collector is rated as poor.
